Science Exploration

Science is an area of the curriculum which fascinates and excites children. It sparks their natural curiosity and feeds their constant quest to understand “why?”. We believe that opportunities to explore science exist in nearly everything we see and do; it is not something we teach in isolation for twenty or thirty minutes once a week. Some of the ways science is addressed in the classroom include:

science centers where various materials are available for the children to explore (e.g. magnets)

nature walks

teacher-directed experiments (building a volcano)

making daily observations about the weather, seasons

cooking projects
